SUMMARY:Low CO2 BOF Steelmaking using DRI Smelting
DESCRIPTION:In the light of European climate actions the steel industry is faced by the challenge to reduce its substantial carbon footprint. This works focusses on the evaluation of low and medium scale investments to reduce the CO2 emissions for the production of liquid hot metal. A comprehensive and easy to use methodology for estimating the (change in) carbon emissions is provided and several real life case studies are described to serve as example.
